Clinical Supervision:
Dr Bashir offers clinical supervision to a range of professionals working within looked-after and adopted children services, including offering supervision to clinical psychologists, therapists, and allied professionals such as teachers, social workers, support workers and anyone working with/supporting developmentally traumatised children.
The goals of clinical supervision vary depending on the setting and the needs of the supervisee. However, some common goals include:
Enhancing the supervisee's clinical skills: Clinical supervision can help the supervisee to develop their clinical skills by providing them with feedback on their work with clients, helping them to develop case plans, and teaching them new therapeutic techniques.
Promoting professional development: Clinical supervision can help the supervisee to develop their professional identity and learn about the ethical and legal aspects of their work.
Supporting the supervisee's emotional well-being: Clinical supervision can provide a supportive space for the supervisee to reflect on their work and to process any difficult emotions they may be experiencing.
Clinical supervision is an important part of the professional development of any mental health, social work, or education professional. It can help to ensure that the supervisee is providing high-quality care to their clients and that they are maintaining their own emotional well-being.
